Lewdden is currently available in five languages. This guide lists the supported languages, where the language switcher lives, what is and isn’t translated, and how to ask for a fix or a new language.
1) The five languages we ship today
- English — the master language. Every page, button, email, and notification is written in English first.
- German (Deutsch) — fully translated, since the platform is run from Germany and German is our second-largest user language.
- Spanish (Español) — translated.
- French (Français) — translated.
- Portuguese (Português, Brasil) — translated, with Brazilian Portuguese conventions.
If you need a language that isn’t on this list, your browser’s built-in translate function (right-click → “Translate to…” in Chrome / Edge / Safari) does a serviceable job for the static pages. The browser-translate output isn’t editable by us, so it can read a bit awkwardly — the official translations above are the polished version.
Need a language we don’t have yet? Open a support ticket from Contacting support under Account & login, name the language, and we’ll add it. We add languages on request — there’s no minimum demand or waiting list.
2) Where the language switcher is
On every page, look for the small language flag in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Click it to open a drop-up menu with the five languages, and click any flag to switch instantly. The page reloads in the new language, your choice is remembered, and the next page you open will already be in the new language.
The switcher is hidden on a few specific dashboards (the storefront’s edit-account page, the live-room studio toolbar) where it would clash visually with the page’s own controls — but your language preference still applies on those pages, you just have to switch it from anywhere else.
3) What is and isn’t translated
Translated:
- Every page label, navigation menu, button, form field, and error message that the platform itself controls.
- The verification flow’s wrapping page (the inner identity-check session also adapts to your language, but that’s the verification provider’s translation, not ours).
- Transactional emails (verification updates, payout notifications, support replies, order confirmations) where you’ve selected a non-English language as your preference.
- The help center articles you’re reading right now — top-priority articles are translated when they reach a stable wording; new articles ship in English first and are translated within a few weeks.
Not translated:
- Creator-authored content — clip titles, clip descriptions, storefront bios, feed posts, message replies, custom-order text, live-stream titles. These are in the language the creator wrote them in. Browser-translate can help, but the original is what’s on file.
- Buyer reviews — same reason: the reviewer wrote them in their own language.
- The receipts from Netfield Media S.L — those follow their own template, usually in English.
- Country names + currency codes — international standard names (English) for unambiguous reading.
4) Setting your preferred language
- Quick switch: click the flag in the bottom-right corner of any page. Done.
- Default for emails: the platform sends emails in whatever language was set at the time the system event happened. If you read Lewdden in German but want emails in English, the easiest path is to switch the site to English just before any major action (signup, big purchase, payout); or open a support ticket and we can hard-set your email language.
- What the browser sends as a hint: if you’ve never picked a language manually, the platform tries to match the language your browser sends as its preferred language (the standard
Accept-Languageheader). That’s why a fresh visitor from Berlin lands in German automatically.
5) Found a bad translation? Tell us
Translations are never finished — they’re an ongoing project. If you spot a bad translation (a label that’s plainly wrong, an awkward phrase, an English word that didn’t get translated), please report it via support with:
- The page URL where you saw it.
- The language (German / Spanish / French / Portuguese).
- The incorrect text as it appears.
- Optionally, a better wording you’d suggest.
Translation fixes typically land in the next platform deployment after they’re applied — usually within a few days.
6) Asking for a new language
We add languages based on user demand. If your language isn’t supported and you’d like it to be, let us know via support. Tell us:
- The language you’d like.
- Roughly how many of your fans / followers / co-creators would benefit (a rough estimate is fine — “most of my Italian audience”, “the whole Polish creator scene”, etc.).
We prioritise additions by demand and by the practical complexity of the language (right-to-left support, character-set handling). New languages typically take a few weeks from “we’ve decided to add it” to “live for users”.
7) FAQ
Q: Why is my page partly in English even though I selected German?
Some user-generated content (clip titles, descriptions, message bodies) is in the language the original author wrote it in — those don’t translate when you change UI language. The platform’s own UI labels around them are translated; the content itself isn’t.
Q: I selected German once and now I’m always stuck in German. How do I switch back?
Click the bottom-right language flag and pick English (or whatever you want). Your choice is sticky per browser, so a different browser / private window starts fresh.
Q: My language switcher isn’t visible.
On a few pages (storefront edit-account form, live-room studio) the switcher is hidden because it would visually clash with the page’s own controls. Switch language on any other page first — your preference will carry over.
Q: Can I write my storefront bio / clip descriptions in multiple languages at once?
There’s no built-in per-language content editor. The simplest workaround creators use is to put the most important version first, then a short second-language version below (“(in German: …)”). For larger needs (a fully bilingual storefront), open a support ticket — we can talk through the options.
Q: The Brazilian Portuguese translation has wording that doesn’t fit European Portuguese. Why?
We currently ship one Portuguese translation (Brazilian conventions). If demand from Portugal-and-PALOP creators / fans grows, we can split it into pt_BR + pt_PT — let us know via support.
Q: Will my buyers see my storefront in their language?
The platform UI around your storefront translates automatically. The text you wrote (storefront name, bio, clip titles) stays in your original language. If you want to reach a multi-language audience, write your bio and key clip titles in English — that’s the lingua franca on the platform.
