The 80 % question

“But they pay 80 %.”

You are right — they do. 80 % of a number your fan never paid. Creators ask us this every week, so here is every step of the arithmetic, on the same subscription and the same clip. Our figures use the publicly advertised 11 % bank fee and 19 % German VAT — check them yourself.

“But 22,67 € is still more than 17,50 €.”

Also true — because your fan paid 46,22 € instead of 34,99 €. So price for price: set your subscription to 45,34 € here and you take home the same 22,67 €, while your fan still pays less than they would there — 45,34 € against 46,22 €. Same money in your account, cheaper for your fan. And the moment that fan came through your referral link, you are at 70 % instead of 49 %.

And that surcharge costs you twice. It is not deducted from your share — it is worse: it is the reason some fans abandon the checkout page altogether. A fan who said yes at 34,99 € and then sees 46,22 € is a sale you never find out you lost.

One number above moves with your country: the VAT you owe on your own share. It runs from 17 % in Luxembourg to 27 % in Hungary, and 19 % is what we used. Across the EU that puts the same 34,99 € subscription somewhere between 44 % and 50 % of what your fan paid. Our 50 % is 50 % wherever you live.
